Fun is usually my comfort zone, but silly? That’s a side of me I don’t often tap into. But today, I decided to let it go, and I’m so glad I did. I had a moment where I just let myself be completely silly, like in my one-time performance of “I Like Big Butts.” It wasn’t about impressing anyone or even trying to “dance” in the usual way—it was about having fun and letting my body just be.
And you know what? It felt really playful. It wasn’t forced, and it wasn’t awkward. When I let go of any embarrassment and just focused on enjoying myself, I realized that the performance became a real show, a true expression of joy and freedom.
Maybe fun and silly are closer than I wanted to admit. In a way, letting myself be a little silly opened up the door to a new level of playfulness and freedom in my movement. I didn’t have to be perfect, and I didn’t have to worry about judgment. It was all about embracing that moment and enjoying the experience for what it was.
This course has taught me that moving, dancing, and even performing doesn’t have to be serious—it can be about having fun, being silly, and embracing the joy of the present. I think I’m starting to love this side of myself a little more.
