I have to admit that I have dance parties all the time, but today’s was different. The only person I was performing for was myself. I took my time, repeated movements more than I usually would, and it felt so good—like really good.

Usually, when I dance, I’m thinking about how I look or if I’m doing it “right.” But today, I focused on simply moving until I was finished with the move, not worrying about how it would look to anyone else.
